Research Achievement Awards

Award Information 

The Research Achievement Awards aim to recognize faculty and staff for their excellence in research and scholarship leading to the advancement of knowledge in their own fields and discoveries with significant impact on society. The faculty awards honor the accomplishments over the course of their career, rather than just research over the past 12 months.

All awardees will receive an honorarium and commemorative plaque. Faculty Research Scholar Awards (including Powe) will receive a research grant.

This award is reserved for a general faculty member with a minimum of five years at Mississippi State University and holding a professional rank (including Research Professors who may not be tenure-track faculty)

This award honors a general faculty member with a minimum of two years at Mississippi State University and holding an assistant professional rank (including Research Assistant Professors who may not be tenure-track faculty)

This award may recognize contributions by faculty from any academic discipline and at any stage of a research, clinical, or tenure track appointment.

Research Professional Award

This award honors professionals employed at least .50 FTE and must have at least three years of consecutive service directly involved in performing research at Mississippi State University. This award is meant for Research Associates, Research Engineers, Research Scientists, Postdocs, etc. who are major contributors to the conduct of research.

This award recognizes non-faculty that have been employed at least .50 FTE and must have at least three years of consecutive service in a research support capacity at Mississippi State University.
